York City beat Bristol Rovers 3-2 at the LNER Community Stadium in front of 8,156, both clubs' opening League Two fixture of the season.
Clinton Mola put Bristol Rovers ahead in the 29th minute. York levelled through Alex Newby, on for Dipo Akinyemi in the 42nd, who scored in the 59th. Harry Boyes put York ahead in the 62nd, and after Tommy Leigh's 77th-minute penalty pulled Bristol Rovers level again, settled it with his second in the 79th.
