Yaremchuk's late winner gives Olympiakos victory over Jagiellonia in Europa League opener

Roman Yaremchuk came off the bench to score in the 83rd minute as Olympiakos beat Jagiellonia Białystok 2-1 at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in their opening Europa League match on Wednesday.

Jagiellonia took the lead in the 19th minute through Kajetan Szmyt. Olympiakos were level before the break, Armando González scoring in the 42nd minute.

Yaremchuk had replaced González in the 61st minute, and needed only 22 minutes to make his mark, scoring the winner in the 83rd.

There were five yellow cards, all for fouls. Norbert Wojtuszek was cautioned for Jagiellonia in the 28th minute and Bruno Onyemaechi for Olympiakos in the 37th, before Onyemaechi was replaced at the start of the second half. Guilherme Montóia (53rd) and Bernardo Vital (79th) were booked for the visitors, and Santiago Hezze (75th) for the hosts.
