Wycombe Wanderers continued their winning start under new manager Michael Duff with a deserved 2-0 Carabao Cup victory at fellow League One side Wigan Athletic, securing safe passage to the fourth round.
At a largely empty Brick Community Stadium, Caolan Boyd-Munce's curling left-footed strike and a Donnell McNeilly header settled an all-League One tie that the visitors controlled from start to finish.
Boyd-Munce Curler Breaks the Deadlock
The game was interrupted early on by a six-minute stoppage after an assistant referee on the near side went down with an injury and had to be replaced. Once it resumed, Ollie Cooper went close for Wigan with a powerful shot, but it was Wycombe, who had made a full 11 changes from the side that beat Northampton at the weekend, who settled into their stride more quickly.
