Wrexham Rally from Two Down to Draw with West Brom at The Hawthorns

· Match Report

Wrexham returned to the Championship top six after coming from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with West Bromwich Albion in the first league meeting between the clubs at The Hawthorns. The point could yet prove significant at both ends of the table, lifting Phil Parkinson's side into sixth place while extending Albion's unbeaten run to five matches under interim manager James Morrison.

For much of the first half, West Brom looked set for a comfortable afternoon after Isaac Price's free-kick went in off George Dobson and Josh Maja added a penalty before the break. But Wrexham were transformed after half-time, with Josh Windass curling in a fine strike and Dobson making amends by applying what appeared to be the faintest touch to Lewis O'Brien's effort for the equaliser. A breathless finish brought big chances for Daryl Dike and Kieffer Moore, yet neither side found a winner.

Albion's Early Authority Brought Reward

West Brom began on the front foot and played with the confidence of a team buoyed by successive wins before the international break. Aune Heggebo tested Arthur Okonkwo only tamely, and Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba fired off target, but the home side were clearly asking the early questions while Wrexham struggled to find rhythm.
