Fer Lopez scored the only goal as Wolverhampton Wanderers beat West Bromwich Albion 1-0 at Molineux in the Championship, punishing a Nat Phillips error in the 49th minute.
Wolves had 15 shots to Albion's seven and put six on target to their opponents' two, and were kept from a wider margin only by Max O'Leary in the Albion goal, who made five saves. Cesar Peixoto's side were without the injured Raul Jimenez, while Kieran Trippier returned at right-back after recovering from a knee injury.
O'Leary Denies Wolves Before the Break
Wolves had the better of the first half and O'Leary was the reason it finished goalless. His best stop came in the 11th minute: Marshall Munetsi's header from a Trippier cross was blocked, the ball fell to Nasser Djiga, and O'Leary tipped his header on to the underside of the crossbar.
