Wolverhampton Wanderers beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 at Hillsborough in round three of the League Cup.

Sheffield Wednesday's Sil Swinkels turned the ball into his own net in the second minute, and Saheed Olagunju doubled Wolves' lead in the 45th minute. There was no further goal after the break.

Wolves made six substitutions, including Rodrigo Gomes going off at half-time and Hugo Bueno coming on in the 71st minute, with Toti Gomes introduced as an injury substitute in the 84th.
