Wolverhampton Wanderers beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 at Hillsborough in round three of the League Cup.
Sheffield Wednesday's Sil Swinkels turned the ball into his own net in the second minute, and Saheed Olagunju doubled Wolves' lead in the 45th minute. There was no further goal after the break.
Wolves made six substitutions, including Rodrigo Gomes going off at half-time and Hugo Bueno coming on in the 71st minute, with Toti Gomes introduced as an injury substitute in the 84th. Sheffield Wednesday also made six changes, replacing Ricardo Santos with Max Lowe in the 69th minute and bringing on Jamal Lowe, an injury substitute, in the 85th.
Wolves had 51.8% of possession to Sheffield Wednesday's 48.2%, and led 13 shots to 11, though both sides put three efforts on target. Wolves won six corners to Wednesday's two.
