Harry Wilson struck late to earn Fulham a 2-1 victory over 10-man Chelsea at Craven Cottage, on an evening that gave new Blues head coach Liam Rosenior an unvarnished introduction to the job he has inherited. Watching from the stands while caretaker Calum McFarlane took charge for the second and final time, Rosenior saw his new team combine moments of promise with another costly lapse in discipline as Marc Cucurella was sent off in the first half.
Raúl Jiménez's superb header put Fulham in front after the break, only for Liam Delap to level with his first Premier League goal for Chelsea from a corner. But Wilson, in scintillating form in recent weeks, settled a chaotic derby with a composed, low finish after Robert Sánchez had denied Emile Smith Rowe, lifting Marco Silva's side into the top half and level on points with their neighbours while extending Chelsea's run to just one win in nine league matches.

Rosenior chose not to take his place in the away dugout, leaving McFarlane in interim control after the dramatic draw at Manchester City, and instead watched from the directors' box alongside Behdad Eghbali, one of Chelsea's co-controlling owners. From that vantage point he had a clear view of both the raw talent and the fragility that define this version of Chelsea. There were spells of bright, purposeful football in the opening stages, but also the familiar sight of a side undone by a rash decision and then struggling to manage the game state.
