Stockport County beat Wigan Athletic 4-0 at The Brick Community Stadium in League One, with three of the goals arriving inside the opening 20 minutes. Kyle Wootton, Harry Wood and Jack Diamond scored in the first half and Ryan Glover added a fourth in the 89th minute.
It was a heavy afternoon for a Wigan side who had picked up their first win of the season three days earlier against MK Dons. They are now on one win from five matches; Stockport have three wins from five and nine points.
A Mistake And A Quick Burst
Wigan captain Max Power's error led to Stockport's opener in the ninth minute, Wootton sending a shot from 25 yards into the top corner. Wood made it two in the 18th, getting in behind the home back line and lifting the ball over the advancing Joe Whitworth, with Diamond credited with the assist.
