Aston Villa cruised past Bologna at Villa Park with a 4-0 victory on the night, completing a commanding 7-1 aggregate win in their Europa League quarter-final and setting up an all-English semi-final against Nottingham Forest.
Ollie Watkins finished off an intricate team move inside 16 minutes for his 100th Aston Villa goal, and although Morgan Rogers had a penalty saved by Federico Ravaglia, Emiliano Buendia struck within 46 seconds of that spot-kick before Rogers made amends before the break. Ezri Konsa added a late fourth as Unai Emery's side overwhelmed the Italian opposition.
Watkins joins an exclusive club
Already 3-1 up from the first leg, Villa needed only 16 minutes to extend their advantage. Watkins applied the finishing touch to a wonderful team move involving nine Villa players, becoming the 11th player to score 100 goals for the club and the first to reach the milestone since Peter McParland in 1962.
