Exeter City ended a 15-match winless run in style with a 3-0 thrashing of Doncaster Rovers, a result that gave their hopes of avoiding relegation from League One a significant boost. The drought had stretched all the way back to 24 January, making this an emphatic way to break the spell.
Top goalscorer Jayden Wareham led the way with two goals, while substitute Josh Magennis added a third, but Exeter also owed plenty to goalkeeper Jack Bycroft, who kept Doncaster at bay during a spirited spell from the visitors.
Wareham Breaks the Deadlock
The breakthrough arrived in the 42nd minute. Reece Cole picked out Wareham, who burst clear of the Doncaster defence before rifling the ball across goal and into the net for his 20th goal of the season.
