Guglielmo Vicario produced a string of outstanding saves as Tottenham survived a Monaco onslaught at the Stade Louis II to grind out a goalless Champions League draw and extend their unbeaten start to the competition under Thomas Frank.
Monaco aimed 23 shots at Vicario's goal, generating an expected goals figure of close to 2.5, while a passive Spurs mustered just two on target from an xG of 0.89. The visitors were second best throughout but escaped with a point thanks to their goalkeeper's defiance.
Vicario versus Balogun
The first half at times resembled a personal duel between Vicario and Folarin Balogun. A smart block in the 10th minute opened the contest before a delicious scooped pass from Maghnes Akliouche sent the former Arsenal striker clear, only for Vicario to stand tall and save brilliantly.
