Nottingham Forest climbed back out of the Premier League bottom three, but a 0-0 draw with Fulham at the City Ground felt more like a missed opportunity than a step forward. Vitor Pereira's side moved above West Ham on goal difference after a match in which Dan Ndoye twice thought he had changed the game, first by winning a penalty that was cancelled for offside and then by having a neat finish ruled out by VAR.
Fulham, still 11th and three points behind seventh-placed Brentford, had enough calm and resilience to leave with a point, even if their own attacking threat came only in flashes. Calvin Bassey forced Matz Sels into action before the break, Ola Aina struck the crossbar and later cleared Rodrigo Muniz's effort over his own bar, while Taiwo Awoniyi slid a late chance wide as the stalemate held.
A subdued opening gave way to small openings
The first half carried the mood of two sides arriving from disappointing results. Forest had lost 1-0 at Midtjylland in Europe, Fulham had seen an FA Cup run ended by Southampton, and for long stretches the game reflected that flatness. Forest looked anxious in possession, while Fulham were comfortable enough without turning territorial control into sustained pressure.
