Charlton Athletic winger Tyreece Campbell has signed a new four-year contract with the Championship club, committing his future beyond a breakout season already under way. The 22-year-old academy graduate had been due to become a free agent next summer.
Campbell has scored three goals in Charlton's first three matches of the season, across the Championship and the Carabao Cup, as part of a perfect start under manager Nathan Jones that has the club third in the table after two wins from two league games. He has made 173 appearances in all competitions since making his senior debut in February 2022, having joined Charlton's academy at under-nine level. Primarily a left winger, he has also filled in as a central attacker and, more recently, as a left wing-back amid injuries in the position, a versatility Jones has praised.
Jones had signalled the move was close after Charlton's opening-day win over Derby County earlier this month, saying the club were in "really advanced negotiations" with Campbell and hoped to "get that done."
Campbell, who has won six caps for Jamaica, said: "This club means a lot to me. I've been here since I was nine years old, and I've grown up here." "It's been a really good start to the season for the team and me, and hopefully that continues," he added.
