Two-goal comeback: Middlesbrough rescue a 2-2 draw against Millwall

· Match Report

Middlesbrough came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Millwall at the Riverside Stadium, with Amario Cozier-Duberry and Will Lankshear scoring in the 49th and 60th minutes after Tairyk Arconte and Lyndon Dykes had given the visitors a first-half lead. The point ended Middlesbrough's 100% home record in the league and meant they missed the chance to climb to the top of the Championship.

Kim Hellberg's side had the bulk of the ball but trailed at the break, and the head coach took responsibility for a first half he said was below standard. Alex Neil's Millwall had set out to defend and hit on the counter, and saw a 2-0 lead undone by two moments they felt they should have managed better.

Arconte and Dykes Punish a Slow Start

Millwall had won their previous visit to Middlesbrough 2-1 on 3 April. This time Middlesbrough dominated possession early while the visitors defended in numbers, and that plan paid off in the 10th minute. Camiel Neghli sent the ball forward, Arconte got the better of Luke Ayling and struck low past Radek Vitek at his near post. It was a timely lift for a Millwall side that had conceded eight goals on their previous two away trips, while Max Crocombe at the other end turned a Lankshear volley over the bar.
