Reece Smith struck in the 90th minute to earn Walsall a 1-1 draw at Tranmere Rovers in League Two on 26 September, cancelling out Bobby Faulkner's 72nd-minute header. It stretched Walsall's unbeaten run to eight matches under Lee Grant, though the point meant they missed the chance to go top of the division.
Tranmere were the more threatening side, finishing with 22 shots to Walsall's seven and 11 on target to two. They were kept at bay for most of the afternoon by Jed Ward, who made ten saves, one of them from a penalty.
Ward Keeps Walsall Level
Tranmere pressed from the start and Ward was busy early on. He blocked Charlie Whitaker's strike and parried Tom Ince's fizzed drive to safety, while at the other end Aaron Pressley blazed over from close range when well placed to score.
