Thiaw's brace and Miley's masterclass as Newcastle rout Everton to end away-day drought
Newcastle United finally ended their long wait for a Premier League away win with a devastating 4-1 dismantling of Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium, powered by a Malick Thiaw brace, a goal and an assist from teenager Lewis Miley, and a slick Nick Woltemade finish.
The visitors struck inside the first minute through Thiaw's header from a corner – the fastest league goal of the season – and were 3-0 up by half-time after a combination of Everton errors and ruthless counter-attacking. Thiaw's second made it four before the hour, and although Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall produced a stunning late consolation, it only slightly softened a bruising night for David Moyes's side at a ground where they had previously been so strong.
