Ten-man Rochdale hold on at Fleetwood after racing into a two-goal lead

· Match Report

Rochdale won 2-1 at Fleetwood on League Two's eighth matchday, two goals in the opening quarter of an hour proving just enough at Highbury even after Tobi Adebayo-Rowling was sent off for a second yellow card in the 68th minute. Fleetwood had the greater share of the ball and the chances but could not turn them into a second goal.

Dajaune Brown and Aden Flint scored for the visitors, with Mark Helm replying for Fleetwood before the half-hour. It was Rochdale's second win in a row, following a 2-0 home victory over Oldham Athletic, and Fleetwood's second league defeat in a row after losing 3-1 at Barnet.

Brown and Flint Strike Early

Rochdale were in front in the 7th minute. Glenn Middleton crossed and Brown met it with a first-time finish. Six minutes later they doubled the lead, Brown's shot falling kindly into the path of Flint, who slotted home coolly for his side's second.
