Ten-man Preston defy leaders Coventry as Jebbison snatches a point at Deepdale
Daniel Jebbison's late equaliser earned 10-man Preston North End a stirring 1-1 draw against Championship leaders Coventry City, denying the visitors a first-ever victory at Deepdale and slightly tightening the title race. The Canadian forward turned in Pol Valentin's cross 14 minutes from time, cancelling out Jack Rudoni's heavily deflected opener and preserving Preston's place in the play-off positions.
Coventry, the top scorers across England's top four divisions, had seemed in complete control six minutes before the break when Liam Lindsay was sent off for hauling down the irrepressible Haji Wright. Frank Lampard's side created chance after chance on a windy, bobbly surface and finally broke through when Rudoni's shot deflected off Andrew Hughes, but were punished for not killing the game when Jebbison struck, leaving their lead at the summit trimmed and a familiar sense of frustration on their latest trip to Lancashire.
Wright stretches Preston's high line as Iversen stands tall.
