James Tarkowski struck in the 90th minute to earn Everton a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth, denying Marco Rose a first win as head coach on his home debut. Alex Scott had put the hosts ahead in the 40th minute and Bournemouth looked on course for all three points until a late mix-up at a corner.
Bournemouth made no changes from the side beaten 2-1 at Manchester City on the opening weekend, while Everton brought in James Garner for Hayden Hackney. The point is Bournemouth's first under Rose, who had to wait another week for his first victory.
Petrovic Keeps Bournemouth Level
Everton were the more threatening side early on, and Bournemouth goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic was the reason it stayed goalless. He flicked Jarrad Branthwaite's near-post header behind from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's corner in the 10th minute, then stretched to turn away a low drive from Iliman Ndiaye.
