Barnsley beat Blackpool 2-1 in League One on Wednesday. Cameron McGeehan put Barnsley ahead in the 60th minute, assisted by Patrick Kelly. Josh Bowler equalised for Blackpool four minutes later, assisted by Dion Charles, before substitute Amani Richards scored the winner in the 86th minute, unassisted.
Barnsley had the better of the ball, with 61% possession to Blackpool's 39%, and led on chances too: 24 shots to Blackpool's 18, six on target to four. Barnsley also won more corners, 13 to four, while conceding more fouls, nine to Blackpool's seven.
Seven players were booked, all yellow cards with none upgraded to red. Blackpool's George Honeyman was cautioned first, in the 36th minute; Barnsley's Patrick Kelly and Leo Farrell were both booked in the 89th, and Blackpool's Karoy Anderson followed in the 90th minute.
Barnsley made two changes at half-time, sending on Leo Farrell and match-winner Amani Richards for Makenzie Kirk and Luke Alker, then added two more substitutes later in the second half. Blackpool made three substitutions of their own between the 53rd and 68th minutes.
