Salford City beat Newport County 2-1 at AIG Stadium. Harrison Biggins put Newport ahead in the 70th minute, Taylor Allen levelled for Salford in the 82nd, and substitute Kelly N'Mai (on for Abraham Odoh in the 62nd) struck the winner in the 89th.
Four players were booked, none sent off: Newport's Joe Thomas in the 13th minute and Salford's Ryan Graydon in the 67th, then Newport's Alfie Merritt in the 78th and Cameron Norman in the 85th. Both sides made wholesale second-half changes: Salford also brought on Jorge Grant, Elliott Bonds and Daniel Udoh, while Newport countered with Matt Dibley-Dias, Kieron Evans and Dan Sassi.
The win is Salford's first of the League Two season, lifting them to 20th on three points from four matches. Newport, who had led, slip to 14th on four points, with one win and a draw alongside two defeats.
