Jorgen Strand Larsen scored twice in the first 52 minutes and substitute Daichi Kamada added a third in the 71st as Crystal Palace beat Middlesbrough 3-0 at Selhurst Park to reach the fourth round of the Carabao Cup. Palace were second best for long spells, but took their chances on the break.
Middlesbrough had 59% of the possession and 16 shots to Palace's eight, and won six corners to the hosts' one. Palace, though, put five of their eight efforts on target to Boro's four. Both managers made eight changes.
Palace Punish Boro on the Counter
Boro were the livelier side early on. A loose Yeremy Pino pass gave them the first attack, and goalkeeper Walter Benitez's pass to Ben Chilwell invited more pressure. Amario Cozier-Duberry, on his Boro debut after joining on loan from Brighton, was the main threat down the right, shooting straight at Benitez and later sending another effort just wide. At the other end Pino had a shot blocked and then saw Sol Brynn save his attempt.
