Blackpool beat Stockport County 2-1 at Edgeley Park, a first-half double from Tom Bloxham and Josh Bowler proving enough in a League One matchday two meeting, despite a stoppage-time reply from the hosts.
Tom Bloxham opened the scoring in the 21st minute, and Josh Bowler doubled Blackpool's lead in the 39th. Mikaël Mandron pulled one back for Stockport in the 94th minute, but there was no further scoring.
Stockport had much the better of the general play, managing 28 attempts on goal to Blackpool's 10, nine of them on target to Blackpool's three, and 78% of possession. Blackpool's goalkeeper made eight saves to preserve the win; Stockport's was called upon just once.
Stockport's Ryan Glover was booked in the 33rd minute and Jason Adigun in the 72nd; Blackpool's Finley Munroe was cautioned in the 77th. There were no red cards.
