Spurs still without a league goal as VAR rules out Forest's second-half effort

· Match Report

Tottenham collected a first league point of the new season but remain without a goal in it after a 0-0 draw at Nottingham Forest on Saturday, with a Neco Williams effort chalked off by VAR the moment that shaped the afternoon.

Roberto De Zerbi's side had lost to Brentford and Newcastle in their first two league games after a summer outlay of almost £400m. Going three league games without scoring at the start of a season has not happened to Spurs since 1974-75, and Forest's disallowed goal spared them a third straight defeat, something that would have been a first for the club since 1980.

Forest, under new boss Oliver Glasner, are also still looking for a first win and have yet to score at home this season. They finished with more shots than Spurs, 12 to 11 on Opta's count, and two on target to none.
