Southampton produced one of the season's most dramatic turnarounds as they came from 3-0 down at half-time to beat Leicester City 4-3 at the King Power Stadium, with substitute Shea Charles crashing in a 96th-minute winner. Andy King's side had appeared to be cruising towards a first victory since he took interim charge thanks to first-half goals from Divine Mukasa, Patson Daka and Abdul Fatawu.
But a disastrous final half-hour exposed the hosts' brittle confidence. Ross Stewart began the fightback on 61 minutes before Jack Stephens, Ryan Manning and finally Charles completed a stunning comeback that left Leicester without a win in six outings and put the home fans in mutinous mood, while Tonda Eckert's Saints celebrated a victory that had seemed utterly improbable at the interval.
Rampant Leicester Punish Early Profligacy
The afternoon might have unfolded very differently had Cameron Archer taken a golden early chance for Southampton. When Leo Scienza whipped a low cross into the six-yard box, Archer somehow turned the ball over the bar with only Asmir Begovic to beat, a glaring miss that would soon be punished ruthlessly.
