Oliver Sonne scored a stoppage-time winner as Burnley beat Championship side Derby 2-1 at Turf Moor to reach the third round of the Carabao Cup. With a penalty shootout looming, the Peruvian international defender ran on to Mike Tresor's perfectly weighted through ball and guided a low, left-footed finish into the net via the inside of the post.
Aaron Ramsey had given the Clarets a fourth-minute lead before Bobby Clark equalised for the Rams 10 minutes before half-time. Both managers made wholesale changes, with Burnley altering 11 starters from their weekend Premier League win over Sunderland and Derby making eight changes from their draw with Bristol City.
Ramsey opens with a counter-attacking flourish
Burnley made the perfect start as a swift counter led by Marcus Edwards and Loum Tchaouna ended with the ball at Armando Broja's feet. The former Chelsea forward showed excellent composure to tee up Ramsey, who swept a right-footed effort into the bottom-left corner of Josh Vickers' net from 18 yards.
