Ipswich Town's automatic promotion hopes were dented as Milan Smit's very late equaliser from the penalty spot earned Stoke City a 3-3 draw in an enthralling Championship clash full of momentum swings and decisive moments at both ends.
Stoke looked in complete control at half-time after Smit's close-range finish and Bae Jun-ho's composed strike established a 2-0 lead, but Ipswich roared back after the interval, pulling one back through an Eric Bocat own goal before Jack Taylor and substitute George Hirst completed a stunning turnaround to put the visitors 3-2 ahead.
It appeared Kieran McKenna's side had done enough until the sixth minute of stoppage time, when Cedric Kipre fouled substitute Lamine Cisse in the box and Smit held his nerve from 12 yards to ensure the spoils were shared; Ipswich move to within four points of second-placed Middlesbrough, who face Charlton tomorrow having played the same number of games, while Stoke now have just one win from their last 11 league matches but remain 15th with what could prove a valuable point.
