Semedo's stoppage-time sting denies Owls' rare away win
Vivaldo Semedo struck with almost the last kick of the game to snatch a 1-1 draw for Watford and deny rock-bottom Sheffield Wednesday their precious second Championship win of the season at Vicarage Road.
Charlie McNeill's first-half finish had long looked like it would be enough to give Henrik Pedersen's side a first league victory in 13 attempts and a first win on this ground for almost 12 years, as wasteful Watford racked up chances, missed a penalty and had an equaliser ruled out. But in the seventh minute of stoppage time, substitute Semedo squeezed a volley under Pierce Charles to salvage a point and preserve Javi Gracia's unbeaten home record since returning to the Hornets in October.
