Adrian Segecic stepped off the bench to rescue Portsmouth a point against Watford, his 79th-minute strike sealing a 2-2 draw at Fratton Park after the visitors had overturned Yang Min-hyeok's early opener.
South Korean forward Yang had given Pompey a fifth-minute lead with a superb volley, only for Imran Louza and Rocco Vata to turn the game on its head early in the second half. Segecic's low finish denied Watford a first away win in 229 days, extended their nine-match winless run on the road and left both teams climbing two places in the Championship table, with the Hornets now 16th and Portsmouth 17th.
Yang's Early Volley Sets a Relentless Pompey Tone
Road traffic delays around Fratton Park meant a number of supporters were still finding their seats when Portsmouth struck. Marlon Pack hurled a long throw into the Watford penalty area, the visitors failed to clear decisively and when the ball was nudged out towards the edge of the box, Yang watched it drop and thrashed a controlled volley into the far corner to register his first Pompey goal in only the fifth minute.
