Gavin Cowan celebrated a first win as Shrewsbury boss as Anthony Scully and Luca Hoole scored second-half goals to give Town a 2-1 success over fellow League Two strugglers Barrow.
Victory lifted Shrewsbury up to 21st in the table, while Barrow's sixth successive defeat dropped them to one place and three points off the bottom two.

Cowan, who replaced Michael Appleton after arriving from Brackley, had overseen two winless games before this first home league meeting between the sides since 1969.
