Midfielder George Saville scored his first goal for Luton as the Hatters claimed a narrow 1-0 League One victory over Wigan at Kenilworth Road. The summer signing netted what turned out to be the winner after just nine minutes.
Saville volleyed home Liam Walsh's left-wing cross to settle a contest in which both goalkeepers were kept busy and the visitors will rue several missed opportunities to level.
Decisive Early Volley
The breakthrough arrived inside the opening 10 minutes. Saville met Walsh's delivery from the left to volley Luton in front, a strike that ultimately proved enough to take all three points.
