Liam Rosenior began his time as Chelsea head coach by overseeing a dominant 5-1 win over Championship side Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup third round, sending his new club into the fourth-round draw on a night when the away end remained as restive as it was celebratory.
Jorrel Hato and Tosin Adarabioyo put Chelsea two ahead before Miles Leaburn pulled one back in front of a sold-out Valley. Marc Guiu quickly restored the two-goal cushion and substitutes Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez added late gloss, the latter from a penalty with the last kick of the match.
