Crawley Town came from behind to beat Rochdale 1-2 at Crown Oil Arena in League Two's second round of matchday fixtures. The result leaves Rochdale 23rd with two defeats from two games (W0 D0 L2) and a goal difference of -4; Crawley climb to 15th on three points from two (W1 D0 L1).
Oluwalopemiwa Aderoju put Crawley ahead in the 7th minute. Ethan Ebanks-Landell levelled for Rochdale in the 53rd, before Louie Watson converted a penalty in the 71st minute to complete the turnaround.
Eight yellow cards were shown in all, four to each side, with no dismissal. Rochdale's Dan Moss, Kaiden Wilson and Sam Sherring were all cautioned in the first half, along with Crawley's Priestley Farquharson; Crawley's Jude Arthurs and Johnny Russell followed early in the second, and Louie Watson and Rochdale's Nils Ramming were both booked in the 68th minute.
Rochdale made four substitutions from the 81st minute, bringing on Kane Taylor, Baba Adeeko, Zain Silcott-Duberry and Ian Henderson. Crawley used three, including a second-half stoppage-time change that saw opening goalscorer Aderoju replaced by Danilo Orsi.
