Resolute Blackpool frustrate stuttering Cardiff in goalless stalemate

· Match Report

Cardiff City stumbled again in their bid to win promotion from League One as they were held to a deeply frustrating 0-0 draw at home to relegation-threatened Blackpool.

As ever, Cardiff monopolised possession and created plenty of chances but lacked a cutting edge as their stubborn visitors dug in. The Bluebirds had more than 75 per cent of the ball and 26 shots at goal, yet could not find a way past an inspired Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

Dominance Without A Decisive Touch

Cardiff quickly took control but failed to trouble Peacock-Farrell for the majority of the first half despite putting plenty of crosses into the penalty box. The visiting goalkeeper finally had something to do in the 44th minute when he saved a header from Omari Kellyman, the best of a thin set of first-half openings.
