Reading twice squandered the lead and were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw in their clash with fellow League One play-off hopefuls Plymouth.
The home side led 2-1 at the break through goals from Randell Williams and Paudie O'Connor, either side of Alex Mitchell's equaliser, but Plymouth dug in after the interval to share the points.
A Frantic Opening Exchange
Reading went ahead in the third minute when Williams' intended cross from the right drifted in over keeper Luca Ashby-Hammond. The visitors needed only a few minutes to respond, levelling in the sixth minute when defender Mitchell volleyed home from a Ronan Curtis corner.
