Colchester United boosted their League Two play-off hopes with a 2-0 home win over Shrewsbury Town that handed Gavin Cowan his first defeat as Shrewsbury manager, in his second game in charge.
Goals from Will Goodwin and Arthur Read inside the opening 37 minutes settled the contest, with Shrewsbury rarely threatening to find a way back into the game.
