League Two leaders Crewe Alexandra got a rude awakening as Swindon Town cantered to a 3-0 win at the Mornflake Stadium. First-half goals from Gavin Kilkenny, Paul Glatzel and Aaron Drinan cemented the Robins' superiority before the interval.
It was one-way traffic by and large, with Swindon ruthlessly punishing Crewe's errors while goalkeeper Connor Ripley kept the visitors firmly in control whenever the hosts threatened a response.
Kilkenny Sets the Tone
Swindon were ahead in the eighth minute when Kilkenny's deflected strike found the far corner, Crewe defenders having backed off to allow the midfielder the time to drive his effort home.
