QPR sign Dennis Cirkin on free transfer from Sunderland

· Transfer News

Queens Park Rangers have signed the left-back Dennis Cirkin on a free transfer, following his release by Sunderland.

Cirkin, 24, joined Sunderland from Tottenham Hotspur's academy in August 2021 and went on to make 126 appearances for the club, scoring eight goals. He was a regular in defence during Sunderland's promotion-winning 2024-25 season, making 36 Championship appearances, but featured just nine times in the Premier League last term as competition for places at full-back grew.

He made his Premier League debut in December 2025, coming on for the injured Dan Ballard in a 1-1 draw at Leeds, having worked his way back into contention through Sunderland's under-21 side after injury.

Sunderland manager Regis le Bris addressed Cirkin's situation in April, with a year left on his contract at the time. "The competition is high, so it's hard to be the fourth in that situation," he said of the club's options at full-back.
