QPR 2-2 Preston: Smyth rescues a point for ten-man Rangers after Kenny's double

· Match Report

Queens Park Rangers came from two goals down against Preston North End to draw 2-2 at Loftus Road on 19 September, Paul Smyth firing a 20-yard equaliser in the 89th minute with the hosts down to ten men.

Johnny Kenny had scored twice for the visitors, the first inside the opening minute, in Preston's first match since the sacking of Paul Heckingbottom. Kwame Poku pulled one back in the 65th minute before Smyth's late strike.

A run of six defeats in seven games had cost Heckingbottom his job, and first-team coach Jason Euell took caretaker charge.
