Paris Saint-Germain came out on top in a nine-goal thriller against Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes, beating the German champions 5-4 to take a slim advantage into the second leg of their Champions League semi-final.
The nine goals made it the most ever scored in a Champions League semi-final first leg, while the match also became the joint-highest scoring semi-final in European Cup history, level with Rangers' 6-3 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt in 1960. Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer did not make a save all night.
Breathless five-goal first half
Bayern struck first on 17 minutes when Luis Diaz exchanged passes with Michael Olise before being tripped by William Pacho. Harry Kane absorbed the boos, paused, and rolled the spot-kick into the corner as Matvey Safonov dived the other way — his 13th Champions League goal of the season.
