Bristol City beat Preston North End 3-1 at Deepdale in an EFL Championship matchday-four fixture, scoring first inside three minutes and pulling clear with two late goals after Preston had drawn level shortly after the interval.
Scott Twine opened the scoring for the visitors in the 3rd minute. Caleb Wiley equalised for Preston in the 50th, but Bristol City regained the lead through Lisav Eissat in the 78th minute, and substitute Dom Ballard, on since the 68th, added a third in the 85th.
Preston's Jordan Thompson and Liam Lindsay were both booked for fouls, in the 8th and 82nd minutes; there were no red cards.
Preston made four second-half substitutions, including Wiley's own withdrawal in the 65th minute. Bristol City made three changes together in the 58th minute, brought on Ballard in the 68th and a fifth substitute in the 83rd.
