Port Vale were left on the brink of relegation to League Two following a lacklustre goalless draw at home to Wigan Athletic.
The hosts turned in another toothless display in front of goal and never looked like getting the victory they so badly needed. Vale must now win all of their four remaining fixtures and hope Leyton Orient and AFC Wimbledon fail to pick up the points they need for survival.

It was the visitors who carried the greater threat in the opening exchanges, with Joe Taylor and Will Aimson both sending efforts off target.
