Burton Albion won 1-0 at Plymouth Argyle in League One, Jack Armer scoring the only goal in the 69th minute and denying the hosts the chance to go top of the table. Argyle had won their previous three league games and had Bim Pepple, with four goals in four matches, in form, but could not find a way through.
The result lifts Burton to seventh on 12 points from eight games, while Plymouth slip to fourth on 13. It was Burton's first win in four league matches, after draws with Mansfield Town and Cambridge United and a defeat at Oxford United.
Early Chances Go Begging at Home Park
Pepple headed just wide at the far post in the 13th minute after Ronan Curtis crossed from the right and the ball eluded Burton goalkeeper Corey Addai. Armer then fired high from 10 yards in the 20th minute after meeting a cross from the right, and Curtis Tilt was booked for Burton two minutes later.
