Peterborough United reached the Carabao Cup fourth round for the first time since 2009, beating League One rivals Barnsley 7-6 on penalties after a 3-3 draw in which they twice came from behind.
Danny Ormerod scored twice, the second a header two minutes from the end of normal time that forced the shootout, and Harrison Jones converted the decisive kick after Luke Alker's effort was saved.
A tie that was never still
Barnsley were in front after 61 seconds. Peterborough goalkeeper Alex Bass was charged down by Cameron McGeehan, who nodded in the rebound off the woodwork. Harry Leonard levelled in the 18th minute, prodding in after Barnsley goalkeeper Kieran Flavell could only push Lucca Mendonca's cross as far as him.
