Peterborough sign striker Danny Ormerod from Fylde

· Transfer News

Peterborough United have completed the signing of Danny Ormerod, taking the striker to League One from National League North champions AFC Fylde in a deal worth at least £600,000.

The 20-year-old joins on a long-term contract after scoring 31 times for Fylde last term as they claimed the National League North title, and had already found the net twice in three appearances this season before his move to London Road went through.

AFC Fylde said the deal represented significant business for the National League club. "The agreement with Peterborough United represents a guaranteed fee of £600,000, alongside a substantial future sell-on clause," they said. "We believe the guaranteed element of the transfer places Danny as the second-highest National League transfer of all time and is a significant piece of business for the club as we continue to build for the future."

Peterborough manager Luke Williams said: "Danny is a player that has plenty of potential and has played a good amount of games for his age. He will provide another attacking option for us."
