Tom Cleverley's resurgent Plymouth kept their slim Sky Bet League One play-off chances alive as Bim Pepple's double gave them a 2-1 home win over relegated Port Vale, after the hosts had been reduced to 10 men early on.
Argyle made a dream start when top scorer Lorent Tolaj put strike partner Pepple in on goal, and he scored with a clinical third-minute finish before Connor Hall hauled Vale level. Pepple then settled it with a stunning second after the break.
A Dream Start Soured by a Red Card
Plymouth could not have asked for a better opening. Tolaj slipped Pepple through and the striker finished clinically in the third minute to put the hosts ahead.
