Leicester City and Preston North End shared a dramatic 2-2 draw in a game that swung sharply in both directions, with Patson Daka scoring in the fourth minute and again in the 81st to rescue a point for the Foxes. Daka had raced back from international duty with Zambia, after playing against Argentina in Buenos Aires in the early hours of Wednesday, and made an instant impact when he seized on Andrew Moran's under-hit back-pass, rounded Daniel Iversen, and rolled home from the edge of the area.
Preston recovered impressively from that early setback. Moran made amends with a 38th-minute equaliser that bounced down off the crossbar and over the line, confirmed by referee Ben Speedie's watch, before Ben Whiteman headed the visitors in front from Alfie Devine's corner in the 45th minute. Leicester pushed hard after half-time, were left fuming at a booking rather than a sending-off for Jordan Storey's foul on Daka, and eventually levelled when Daka punished another defensive error. Harry Winks then went close to a late winner, but both sides had to settle for a point.
Daka turns exhaustion into an early advantage
There was no sign of travel fatigue in Daka's opening contribution. Having only just returned from international duty, the striker reacted instantly when Moran's back-pass fell short, took the ball away from the advancing Iversen, and calmly finished to give Leicester a fourth-minute lead.
