Own goals at both ends as Derby and Millwall share late drama

ยท Match Report

Derby County and Millwall shared a bizarre 1-1 draw at Pride Park as both goals arrived via late own goals in a Championship contest that otherwise offered little attacking quality.

Matt Clarke diverted Thierno Ballo's cross past his own goalkeeper in the 81st minute to put Millwall on the brink of a fourth straight win, only for Lions captain Jake Cooper to head into his own net under pressure from Clarke seven minutes later, leaving the high-fliers third in the table and Derby 15th on 27 points.

Millwall threaten first in a cautious opening

Millwall thought they had taken an early lead when a clearance from Sondre Langas ricocheted off a visiting player and fell perfectly for Mihailo Ivanovic at the back post, the Serbian striker rolling the ball into an empty net before the assistant's flag cut short the celebrations for offside.
