Manchester United and Bournemouth produced one of the most chaotic Premier League matches in recent memory, trading blows in an eight-goal classic that somehow finished level at 4-4. Both sides led, both had to come from behind and both thought they had done enough to win before 19-year-old substitute Eli Junior Kroupi drove home a late equaliser to cap a breathless night at Old Trafford.
Amad Diallo, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha were on target for Ruben Amorim's side, while Antoine Semenyo, Evanilson, Marcus Tavernier and Kroupi struck for Andoni Iraola's adventurous Bournemouth. Between them the teams racked up 38 shots in a contest that veered constantly between brilliance and calamity, leaving United nudged into sixth place and costing them a top-five position, while Bournemouth stayed 13th and extended a seven-game wait for a win despite scoring four times away at one of the league's heavyweights.
United's ferocious start and Diallo's farewell header
Ruben Amorim had finally bent, if not completely broken, his attachment to a rigid 3-4-3. United still defended with a back five, but Amad Diallo was pushed far higher on the right, often joining the front line to create a four-man attack. The effect was immediate. United flew from the blocks, registering six shots inside the opening 10 minutes – their fastest barrage in a league game since October 2022 – and pinning Bournemouth deep in their own half.
