OFI began their Europa League campaign with a 2-0 victory over Hoffenheim at the Pankritio Stadium on the first matchday.
Aitor Cantalapiedra gave the hosts the lead in the 29th minute. He was booked in the 63rd minute and replaced by Giannis Apostolakis in the 69th. Georgios Kanellopoulos, who came on in that same 69th-minute change, made it 2-0 in the 83rd minute.
Hoffenheim had most of the ball, with 67% possession to OFI's 33%, and finished with 21 shots to nine, five on target to three, and eight corners to four. They collected three yellow cards, for Vladimír Coufal (22nd minute), Nathan De Cat (52nd) and Koki Machida (62nd). Thanasis Androutsos (55th) was OFI's other booking.
Hoffenheim made five changes in all, Machida replacing Albian Hajdari at the start of the second half and Andrej Kramaric and Fisnik Asllani coming on in the 59th and 74th minutes respectively.
